What is Drama Club?

Do you wish to develop a passion for acting? Or have you ever wondered if any of your peers had an equal interest in performing as you? Good news, you don't have to hide it because after a setback of two years our most beloved Drama Club has returned! But many may ask, what does this club offer? “This year, drama club offers students the ability to develop their passion for acting whether it's through fun rehearsals or reading inspiring plays” said Ezra, sophomore drama club actor.

This year, drama club performed “Speak Truth to Power”. The amazing play is an inspiring piece that reveals the bravery of many individuals who have surpassed many harsh and difficult obstacles. “The play itself gave a spark to our audience, which is our main goal. We want them to feel the true emotions of the different characters. I was honestly touched by the character I played as well.” Jackelyn Santiago said,  the former drama club assistant director.

“My vision for the drama club is to flourish. I want to see these talented students develop their great gifts, so they can be prepared for the real world. I hope to broaden their experience which will be prosperous in the future. I hope they see acting as a beneficial and entertaining extracurricular activity as well,” said Bev, the director.

Drama club is not just any ordinary gathering it is much more. “It is like a community, a small family where diverse students come together because of one common passion,” said Alex Escobar, drama club actor.

If you feel this is something you would be interested in, Drama Club welcomes everyone and anyone Tuesdays during lunch in Mr. Glens room. Come and join, who knows maybe you’ll act your heart away.
