New Vs. Old

What are the changes?

So how is the new SAT different from the old one? To start, the old one required you to do an essay, which also included the reading part, purely based on memorizing vocabulary. However, the new SAT has provided the option to write an essay or not and the reading part is more about evidence support and data reasoning, rather than really knowing your vocabulary. Another difference is that in the previous SAT, there was a one-fourth point given for every wrong answer, but now, there is no penalty in guessing an answer. In the old SAT the median score was 1500 between 2400 and now the median score is 1000 out of 1600. Crazy, right?

The format of the exam has changed by it now being accessible on the computer as well, rather than just a packet and a scantron. The time that is given to take the test will not change by much, only about five more minutes so instead of  three hours and forty-five minutes it is now three hours and fifty minutes. When taking the SAT you will still be required to bring your own pencil, eraser, student I.D.,  and your admission ticket. The new SAT will be administered on March of 2016, so Juniors, buckle up and get ready to pass.
