One of the most anticipated albums of the year is finally here. Drake’s third album, “Nothing Was The Same,” was officially released on September 24th. After the leak was released a week before its actual release date, every social network was going insane with people’s thoughts and lyric quotes from the album. This album is jam-packed with songs that are both catchy and poetic.

Entertainment Weekly raves, “This un-hurries album reveals a surer character, rebuking other rappers who talk smack ‘just to get a reaction’ and relatives diminishes by easy money and proximity to fame.”

At his rawest, or best, Drake showcases his growth and maturity as an artist while consistently rapping with purpose over a confused track sequencing. Nevertheless, his uprising in the rap

game has differed from others. Many consider it as “an album of its own greatness,” while others criticize him for being “too soft.” He has definitely centered his place among rap’s elite and raised the bar even higher for his peers. Drake is confident and unpredictable.

Three studio albums in, he has embraced and capitalized on what’s made him an amazing, and relatable rapper who stands out from the rest. Drake is at a place where he’s most comfortable, with his instability pumping throughout his veins for the sole purpose of self-improvement.

The progression of this album features a self-aware Drake, who is sure of himself, and is also a reflection of the talent of his producers, Noah Shebib, who produced the majority of the album. The storytelling is filled with his flashbacks, wrongdoings, and a taste of his stubborn pride. It’s safe to say that after the success of this album, nothing will ever be the same.
