HomeComing Game

After six long years of failing to win Homecoming, the drought has finally been brought to an end, as the Los Angeles High School football team is on a road towards glory. Leading into homecoming, the Roman’s football team had only suffered one loss, to West Adams High School, but this did not bring the team or school’s spirit down.

As the time came closer to the start of the game, the seats began to fill with many supporters, such as alumni, students, parents, faculty, administrators, and school clubs. Before kick-off, two former alumni were asked how they felt about this homecoming, seeing as they never had a game under the lights.

“It’s a new experience that we never had, it makes the games more traditional and it excites the crowd and the team,” said Kahari Palmer and Denzel Hitchcock, who both graduated in 2013 and are former football players.

The game started off with a boom, a Kick-Off return touchdown by Los Angeles High School’s Elijah Thompson for 102 yards, which led to a 48 point scoring first half. Although the offense was quiet in the second half, only scoring 7 points, the defense put up an outstanding performance, only allowing 6 points throughout the whole game. The football team is looking great and they have the record and stats to show it.
