Shelters provide food, water and a place for the animals to sleep. But, with animals pouring into the shelters by the dozen, it's harder to feed all of them. It is even more difficult to keep the cages maintained. It takes a lot of donations and volunteer work to keep the shelters going. Not only was the drive good for the animals, it was also good for people. It gives one a fuzzy, warm feeling to donate. With the drive ending with Christmas right around the corner, those who donated may have made it on Santa’s “nice” list.
