Safety First!

School safety has always been a big concern for schools and parents. The safety of the students, should be important to the district and administrators. Most parents are concerned with their child’s safety both in and out of school, so why not lessen their worries during school?Students often tend to believe that the staff is responsible for the safety of every single kid on campus, but what some don’t understand is that the staff can’t prevent every single incident from going on in the school.

Students need to realize that they, too, have a part in dealing with the safety of their fellow classmates. If we can find a way to get students involved with helping to prevent disputes between kids out on the yard, before they happen, we won’t have to rely on the staff to step in and try to stop every single fight, argument, and any other problems out on the campus. I feel that some students just don’t care for other students at all, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t keep trying to make them care, at least to some extent. Perhaps we can make the issue of “school safety” an event, such as “No Absence April,” “Spirit Friday,” or a Town Hall meeting for students to voice concerns and suggestions.
